Open a project and click the Schedule tab. A new schedule offers + Add your first task or Start from the example (a hospital addition you can change to fit).

Add and arrange tasks

  • Click + Add task at the bottom, or right-click a task for Add task above/below, or right-click a phase for Add task to this phase.
  • Press Tab in a task's name to indent it under the task above (that one becomes a phase); Shift+Tab brings it back out.
  • Every task gets a permanent ID like SCH-014. It never changes, so links, Trackers and search use it.
  • Double-click any task for all its settings: dates, Responsible person, progress, needs, notes, checklist and comments.

Dates and links

  • Drag a bar to move it, or its ends to change the start or finish.
  • Drag the dot after a bar onto another task to link them, so the second starts when the first finishes. Or type IDs in the Predecessors column: "4, 7" or "SCH-004+2d" for a 2-day lag.
  • Click a link line to set its lag in days, or remove it.
  • Moving a task moves the tasks linked after it.
  • Type a Duration in days ("12") or weeks ("3w").

Progress and status

  • Drag the round handle on a bar to set its progress, or select it and press ← →.
  • The dot by each name shows its status: on track, at risk, late or not started.
  • A task can follow a weighted checklist instead: open it and set Progress to Checklist.

The toolbar

  • Customize picks, orders and adds columns (WBS, Planned Hours, Responsible, your own fields).
  • Milestones shows every milestone in a strip under the dates.
  • Zoom and the scale change how much time you see; Ctrl + scroll or pinch zooms too.
  • Print makes a PDF; Excel downloads the whole schedule.
  • Undo (Ctrl+Z) takes back the last change. Everything saves on its own.
